Freelancer or agency in Chennai?

I'm the freelancer, so read this knowing that. I've also worked alongside agencies enough to know exactly which jobs they do better — and there's a section below saying so plainly. Use the table to work out which side your project sits on.

When you should hire the agency

Four situations where I'd tell you to go elsewhere, because pretending otherwise wastes your money and my reputation.

  • Several things at once, on the same date

A launch needing a film crew, a photoshoot, packaging and a site in the same four weeks needs parallel teams. I work in sequence.

  • You need media buying and strategy

I design and edit. I don't plan campaigns, buy ad space or run performance marketing, and I won't pretend to.

  • Procurement requires a vendor panel

Larger companies often need registered vendors, insurance cover and a legal entity on the invoice. That's a fair requirement and an agency meets it.

  • The work must never pause

If a daily output can't stop when one person is ill or travelling, you need a team with cover built in.

Where the money actually goes

An agency quote isn't inflated for no reason — it carries costs I don't have. Whether that's worth paying depends entirely on your project.

Directional, not a survey. Ask any agency to break down a quote and they'll show you something like this.

Describe the project. If it's an agency job, I'll say so — and I know a few good ones in the city.
