A card gets about three seconds of attention and then lives in a wallet for a year. It needs to say one thing clearly and have a number someone can dial without squinting.

Six ways cards go wrong at the printer
All six are avoidable in the file. Most cheap card designs contain at least two.

Text too close to the edge
Guillotines drift by a millimetre or two. Anything inside that margin gets clipped on some cards in the stack.

Phone numbers at 6pt
If your customer needs their glasses to dial you, the design has failed regardless of how it looks.

Rich black gone muddy
Black set as 100% K prints grey on coated stock. It needs a proper CMYK build.

Spot UV without a mask
The printer needs a separate layer marking exactly where the gloss goes. Without it they guess.

A logo supplied as PNG
At card size a screen-resolution logo goes soft. It has to be vector.

Fonts not outlined
The press machine substitutes whatever it has, and nobody spots it until 1,000 cards are cut.
